Thame Engineering was founded in 1946 as tool making and sub-contract business. After becoming a limited company in 1951, a range of soft jaws was introduced and this has developed and grown into one of the most comprehensive and largest in the world, covering all types of jaws for chuck and clamping devices.
 
Thame has also become a leading international provider of workholding solutions for all types of machining in both standard and special applications. A high proportion is designed and manufactured at their Buckinghamshire factory and they also represent a selected range of workholding companies in the UK, each with high quality innovative workholding products; these include Lang Technik, Horst Witte and Samchully.
 
The factory and sales office is situated in the glorious Buckinghamshire countryside having moved to Long Crendon in 1988.
 
In 2005 the company changed its trading name to Thame Workholding to underline the company products and business specialisation.
 
Thame Workholding is accredited to Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008 with the scope of design, manufacture, assembly, supply and maintenance of workholding equipment.
 
As a workholding solution provider they have the resources to offer specialist manufacturing and design services to create the optimum solution to solve most workholding needs.
 
The 10,000 sq ft. Long Crendon modern facility houses over 15 well equipped CNC machine tools, 5-axis automated machining, CMM Inspection, CAD/CAM, sales and administration as well as large stocks of their standard products.
